The Challenge

Many pastors don’t realize the influence they have on their congregation’s culture.

The Shadow of the Leader workshop proceeds from a few simple truths:

  • God works through the leaders he places in each congregation.
  • Leadership shapes culture.
  • Without intentional leadership, culture will take its own course—including ways that don’t align with the church’s mission.

Thus, when culture is hindering the church’s ministry, leaders have both the calling and the opportunity to use their influence to address the cultural issues.
